Cotton is growing; a political cartoon seems to speak of our times
Chief Askew was writing about the cotton crop today, which he said “has grown more in the last few days than it has since it came up.” As Coweta County attempted to diversify its crops, the Newnan Herald reported the peach crop was expected to fetch half a million dollars.
I apologize for being late with today’s post. This cartoon, which appeared in the Newnan Herald on June 20, 1930, is a timely reminder that politics in America has always been fractured, but we have much to be thankful for.
