Drunk charges dominate Mayor's Court; Prohibition violators clog prisons nationwide
“Had several small cases in Mayor’s Court at 9 a.m.,” Chief Askew wrote in his diary. “Had four cases charged with Drunkeness and the others did not amount to very much.” It was raining again, which pleased the chief. “Already had a fine season and looks like it might rain all day!” he wrote.
