DAR convention continues; women celebrate 10th anniversary of suffrage
Two of Chief Askew’s men went to Atlanta today on a federal case involving “two young white men” who were jailed for transporting a stolen car across state lines, from Kentucky to Georgia.
Meanwhile, the Daughters of the American Revolution state convention was still going strong in Newnan, with a “big barbecue in their honor” given at the Masonic Temple.
Women throughout the country celebrated the tenth anniversary of getting the right to vote today, with luncheons, speeches, and measurements of progress. Paid subscribers can read on about this, and about the birth today of a baby girl who would make history.
