The fancy Dodge car belonging to ‘Rat’ Welch, stolen from a gas station on Saturday, was recovered this Sunday afternoon in Lagrange, about 30 miles from Newnan. Chief Askew got a call from the police chief in that city saying the car was found abandoned on a back street, with no sign of the thief.

In New York, it was announced that Babe Ruth had signed a “record-smashing” contract to play for the New York Yankees for an additional two years.
