Chief Askew attended a fairly lively Mayor’s Court this morning, noting that the fines amounted to $100 “if they had all paid out, but some of them went back go the Jug.” I am guessing this is slang for the jail.

Monday afternoon four “boys” were arrested for burglarizing a store.

As America’s mothers were basking in the glow of their national holiday, cowboy philosopher Will Rogers recommended in his syndicated column in the Atlanta Journal that a day be established for fathers.
