Another weather report; Boeing hires first crew of airline hostesses
There was no Mayor’s Court in Newnan today and business was “still very dull in our line,” Chief Askew wrote in his diary. “Fair and warm to-day, and no rain, but we have a fine season already.”
Surely he had no idea that aviation history was being made in California as Ellen Church became the first air hostess, flying on a Boeing Air Transport plane from Oakland to Chicago.
