Chief Askew wrote in his diary today about a man who forfeited his $25 bond “for being drunk and driving car while intoxicated” and about a high school baseball game, Newnan High vs. LaGrange High, where the visting team won 10-1. But I am betting most of the folks in Newnan were riveted on the visiting University of Georgia Glee Club, which featured a revue of “boy chorus girls” and a blind-folded driver navigating the city’s streets.

The photograph of the Glee Club members performing as “The Rush-ian Ballet” appeared on the front page of the May 2, 1930 Newnan Herald.
