Chief Askew's Diary: May 31-June 1, 1930
A good crowd in town on Saturday; were the kids at the movies?
Chief Askew wrote in his diary this Saturday that there was a “very good crowd in Town this p.m.” I wonder if any of the children went to the movie matinee at The Ritz, which lured children with action-packed short films, often featuring cowboys, and even shorter serials set in exotic places.
Do you remember this classic commercial for Tootsie Rolls with the little boy making his candy last through a cowboy movie?
