“Police in LaGrange caught a negro boy with a bicycle that was stolen here from Mr. McDaniels Son about 2 weeks ago,” Chief Askew wrote in his diary today. He guessed that a deputy sheriff “will go after him Saturday.”

The Newnan Herald was published today, and included the announcement that the film Hallelujah would be shown the following week. “King Vidor’s Daring Drama of Negro Life,” said the ad for the Alamo theatre. “The world welcomes a new and marvelous entertainment, never such praise from the press. Never such reception from the public. SEE IT.”
