An imposter rose and a church meeting in Hermitage

As usual, Mr. Lanham began his day in the garden, which he wrote “is a picture in the half shade.” He cut some “fine roses, especially some that purport to be Duchess of Luxembourg, but look like Los Angeles.” I could find pictures of neither, so I will let him be the judge!
