Mr. Lanham spent two thirds of his diary extolling the beauty of his garden, especially the Ophelia and Radiance roses, which were both fragrant and lovely to behold. The Ophelia is a very pale pink climbing rose, the Pink Radiance — a heritage rose picture below — is a deeper pink.
