Mr. Lanham breakfasted in the dining car of the train in Washington, D.C. this morning, then read until he arrived at Pennsylvania Station in New York at 2 p.m. His cousin Ellen was there to meet him “with the news that Papa was much better, his temperature being normal again.” It had climbed as high as 104 degrees earlier in the week.
