Although some of Mr. Lanham’s roses had passed their peak, he was able to cut some Sunburst and Willowmere blossoms to bring indoors. “The latter is a lovely rich color, and lasts well in the house,” he wrote. “As for Sunburst, well, I haven’t yet seen a yellow to equal it. Lasts well and is of fine form and color…”
