Roses still delight, plus it is hollyhock season

Although some of Mr. Lanham’s roses had passed their peak, he was able to cut some Sunburst and Willowmere blossoms to bring indoors. “The latter is a lovely rich color, and lasts well in the house,” he wrote. “As for Sunburst, well, I haven’t yet seen a yellow to equal it.
