Roses and bankruptcy are on his mind

Mr. Lanham was up early this morning, cutting a few roses and dusting the ones nearest his neighbor Mrs. Towers’s yard. “Sunburst is fine, except for weak stems. Opens a lovely color and holds it shape,” he wrote.
