A Mr. Selig of Kirschbaum Clothing phoned Mr. Lanham from Atlanta, urging him “to come down to buy clothing.” Kirschbaum was a highly respected company whose men’s suits were regularly advertised by M. Rich & Bros. — better known as Rich’s — such as this ad that appeared in the Atlanta Constitution on April 1, accessed through newspapers.com.
