After playing volleyball at the YMCA this evening, Mr. Lanham went home via the train depot to say good-bye to a friend. “Big crowd over there expecting to see Kelly —- and his bride off, but they had given the crowd the ‘slip,’” he wrote.

He came home and gave Julia Anne her bath.
