With the big Christmas sale looming the next day, Mr. Lanham threw himself into work. He even skipped his usual volleyball game at the YMCA. “Busy all day trying to get windows trimmed, store decorated, and customers waited upon,” he wrote. “Julia Anne helped with the window and had a great time.”
