It was a cold day, the temperature hovering around freezing all day. At dinner time, Mr. Lanham planted a number of rose bushes with his helper, Mr. Holloway. Among the varieties they planted was a Duchess of Luxembourg and an Etoile de Lyon, a yellow tea rose of medium height. This lovely picture of the Etoile de Lyon comes from wikimedia.commons.
