It was a cool and clear morning in Rome, with “good attendance” in Sunday School, Mr. Lanham wrote. His family and some friends went to “Claude’s” for dinner, and then they rambled around a bit, taking in a band concert in Lindale and driving by “the old Miller place. Very run down and dilapidated.”
