With his women folk away, Mr. Lanham spent the night at his mother and father’s house. He was at work by 6:30, freshly bathed and shaved. He got a postcard from his wife and daughter, telling him they had arrived safely in Americus. Perhaps they mailed it from this post office building. The vintage postcard was offered on eBay.
