Poor Anne Lanham proved today that no good deed goes unpunished.

Mr. Lanham woke late and went to work without breakfast, though he later sneaked out and had some at home. He wrote that it was “inconvenient” for him to visit his parents in their new home that day. However, Anne made a valiant effort.
