It was a clear and cool Sunday, full of church activities. “Ladies class had charge of worship service at Sunday School,” Mr. Lanham wrote. Afterward, Anne and Julia Anne went with members of the Junior League for a service at “the county home.” I am not sure what this is. Many counties at this time had a poor house or poor farm for indigent people.
