The news of the day: lower gas prices, tornado deaths and the war on liquor
Although it was the Saturday after Thanksgiving and seasonal shopping was in full swing, Mr. Lanham reported that business at his family’s department store was “very poor today.” Even so, he worked late, not returning home until 10:30 at night. He stayed up late reading.
