It was another fine and clear fall day in Rome. The Kiwanis Club elected officers for the coming year, Aunt Eva came to spend the night and minded Julia Anne while Anne and Mother Lanham went to Mitchell Park to see who won a drawing for a prize of some kind. They weren’t the winners.

Mr. Lanham doesn’t mention it today, but apparently Rome was a-buzz ab…
