With the Democratic primary scheduled the following day, Mr. Lanham’s attorney and relative Will Mundy was speaking in Rome as well as one of his two opponents for the open Congressional District 7 seat, Rome businessman Charles H. Porter. The third candidate was Malcolm Tarver of Dalton.
