"Went to cooking school in the Victory theatre," Mrs. Culp wrote, and then visited a dressmaker at the corner of Michigan and Nebraska streets. Her short entry stands in sharp contrast to President Roosevelt's official calendar (written in a notably more legible hand than the diary!) as he took his oath of office for the second time.
