With sister Else still visiting, Mrs. Culp made jelly from blackberries in her kitchen at the Bay View. Lucky Walter to have fresh jelly for his morning toast! The pictured ad, from 1940, shows a “toast and jam set” that would dress up the breakfast table and was said to be nice enough (and simple enough) for a man to use with his friends.
