“Sad news — Lease not renewed,” Mrs. Culp wrote at the top of her diary page today. She went on, “We heard the bad news to-day, that the lease on the hotel won’t be renewed.” The owner, an insurance company, decided to run it themselves. “We have to make the best of it and be thankful for what we did have.”
