With a Mr. Cooper —perhaps a contractor—Mrs. Culp went to 317 S. Edison Street “to see about improvements.” While there she informed the tenant, Mrs. Russell, that she and Walter planned to take possession of the house by August 1 and she would have to move out. Apparently, it was an ordeal. “I took some antacid powder for indigestion,” she confessed.
