Mrs. Culp felt well enough to get to the table to eat today, and apparently Walter saw that as cause for a celebration. Their friends the Schulers, who still lived at the Bay View Hotel, came over that evening and Mr. Schuler fixed cocktails which Walter served, along with cakes. How I wish I knew what they drank!
