The Culps went out to the Edison Street house, where Doc and two other men were hard at work. She sent sister Else $7 by special delivery. But most of the day was apparently spent reading Margaret Mitchell’s Gone With the Wind, the page turner that is still one of the best-selling books in publishing history.
