The drudgery of moving house continues, but Mrs. Culp found time to scratch out one line in her diary today: “William came back from trip.” If you’ll recall, her son had left the previous Sunday for Nashville, traveling with friends in their car. That’s a 700-mile trip these days, and William regularly drove the route in his truck — before interstates!
