While out today shopping, Mrs. Culp talked to Abe Maas, one of the German Jewish brothers who had founded Tampa’s leading department store in 1886 as the Dry Goods Palace. The business was very successful, and Abe, with his brother Isaac, renamed it Maas Brothers. By 1937, it was called simply Maas Brothers and known as “Greater Tampa’s Greatest Store.”…
