Wouldn't you know it? Mrs. Culp's expensive new shoes, purchased the day before in St. Petersburg, didn't fit comfortably. "The right shoe hurts, toes go to sleep just as before," she sighed in her diary entry. The early part of the day was devoted to marketing, a dentist visit and some bridge.
