The Culps and the Cruz family departed at 10 a.m. for Pass-a-Grille and a day at the beach. “They all went swimming but I,” Mrs. Culp wrote. “Too cold and rough. We had a very nice picnic there, enjoyed by all.” Walter took their guests to the Million Dollar Pier while Mrs. Culp stayed on the beach with her sister Else, who had joined them for the day. …
