The weather notation at the top of Mrs. Culp’s Diary today said “colder,” and she wasn’t kidding. The banner headline in the Tampa Daily News that morning read, “Freeze Forecast Here Tonight,” and the accompanying story detailed the threat to truck crops and citrus with the temperature predicted to fall to 32 degrees and below.
