“Pretty weak today, but fixed breakfast for Walter,” Mrs. Culp wrote the day after getting a nasty gash on her head when she fell out of bed. After that, she went back to bed, and the doctor came and gave her “a tonic for my nerves.” Friends and family stopped by to see her, and her daughter-in-law Jackie kept her company all day.
