That nasty Mrs. H--- shows her true colors

Else left on the bus for Miami at 8:45 a.m., with Mrs. Culp and Jackie seeing her off. “‘Mrs. H. telephoned her ‘Good bye’ because it rained a little. Some friend!” Mrs. Culp complained snarkily. (Remember, this is the woman Mrs. Culp blames for her fall from bed and subsequent head injury.)
