Still reeling from Dr. Urbuteit's diagnosis, Mrs. Culp lays low

“Stayed in bed most all day with heating pad, took aspirin after lunch, slept a little,” Mrs. Culp wrote, the day after being told by Dr. Urbuteit — not yet exposed as a quack — that she had arthritis and would end up crippled and in a wheelchair. “Had a very bad night — 2 aspirin tablets nauseated me.”
