Things were humming today at the Bay View Hotel. “Met some nice German people in the lobby, Mr. and Mrs. E—— from Chicago,” Mrs. Culp wrote. She learned they had lived in her native Berlin from 1899 to 1919. (Remember the Culps emigrated in 1903.)
