Professor Hamilton's Diary: April 30, 1935
Publisher Bernarr Macfadden, father of 'confessions' magazines, visits White House
There was nothing in Professor Hamilton’s diary page today, but President Roosevelt’s calendar was full, even after a late night on Monday. He had spent that evening watching a movie with numerous guests, including one of the most colorful characters in the publishing world, now almost completely forgotten. Paid subscribers can read about the life and times of Bernarr MacFadden, father of the confession magazine — and many others.
The photo of FDR and Bernarr Macfadden is from the archives of the Georgia Warm Springs Foundation.
