He piddles around his room; FDR says Social Security payments will be delayed
Mary Elizabeth was much better last night and her doctor, making yet another house call, was satisfied with her progress. “I did a little with my filing of clippings and pictures,” he concluded. His study must have been a mess!
As a follow-up to the Huey Long filibuster that killed the appropriations bill earlier in the week, President Roosevelt said at his press conference yesterday that the groundwork for the new program would be laid in the coming months but no funds could be dispensed.
