Gwendolyn Hamilton turned seven today, as her father noted in his diary, but he gave no more details about how they observed her special day. Maybe that is because attention was diverted by her baby sister, who was in bed with a head cold and was the subject of a house call by the pedicatrician.

Elsewhere, murder and mayhem abounded. The Reading Times told of jailbreaks in three cities, Boston, Nashville, and Muskogee, Oklahoma that resulted in the deaths of four men.
