The Hamiltons took daughter Gwennie to Sunday School and then went to church. They spent the rest of the afternoon and evening at home.

Things were considerably more exciting for another set of parents, probably the most famous parents in the world. Oliva and Elzire Dionne, whose five identical daughters born the previous May had captured the world’s attention, were making public appearances in Chicago. Their manager was not happy, and complained about it in a story carried by the Associated Press. The photo of Elzire Dionne with her newborn daughters is from the national archives of Canada, accessed through Wikimedia Commons.
