Professor Hamilton's Diary: Jan. 10, 1935
He reads and prepares for a lecture; Reading urged to build an airport
Professor Hamilton frequently works from home. This afternoon he prepared for a lecture he was giving the next day at the Historical Society of Berks County on the topic “Gothic Architecture.” While Margaret was at her violin ensemble practice that evening he read from Henry Adams’s book Mount Saint Michel and Chartres, described by Wikipedia as “whimsical, a playful meditative reflection on medieval culture.” I am sure Professor Hamilton got some inspiration for his talk from James’s guided tour of great cathedrals in France.
