Ten inches of snow fell on Reading on Tuesday, and Professor Hamilton had to shovel his walks twice during the afternoon. Despite the weather, Margaret and some neighbors decided to go to their chorale practice, so he served as their chauffeur. Did he put the chains back on his tires, or take his chances?

In Washington, Eleanor Roosevelt spoke to a thousand woman delegates attending the 10th annual Conference on the Cause and Cure of War. Pursuit of peace was a life-time passion for Mrs. Roosvelt.
