Classes resumed at Albright today “but in a rather perfunctory fashion, since no one wanted to come back — least of all the faculity with all their grades to make out,” Professor Hamilton wrote sourly. (Remember the five-day break had been shortened to two days at the last minutes.) Gwennie had been given a pair of glasses with darkened lenses to wear while her eye healed and wore them to school.

A seven-year-old Reading child was profiled in this cartoon by Edgar Rand that ran in the Reading Times. (The drawing makes her look much older than seven though she does have a sweet bow in her Shirley Temple-like curls.) Margurite Slider shared her hopes, hobbies and plans to stay single.

I was curious to know what happened to this child paragon. Paid readers can learn what I found out.
