The Hamiltons had a typical day of classes at Albright College for him and a violin lesson for her. That evening, they went to an “open forum” held at the Woman’s Club of Reading featuring a talk by the Russian-born journalist Maurice Hindus. His provocative topic: “Stalin, Hitler, and Roosevelt: Who Will Win?” The 1961 photo portrait of Hindus, being offered by eBay, accompanied a press packet for one of his books. The picture postcard of the Women’s Club building, now called the WCR Center for the Arts, is also being offered on eBay. The club, opened in 1919, has a 265-seat auditorium.

Although Professor Hamilton makes no comment on the lecture, it was fully covered in the following days Reading News. To learn what Hindus said, paid subscribers can read on. Click below to upgrade and fully immerse yourself in the Hamiltons’ world.
