Professor Hamilton and Margaret went to church with her mother. Afterward, Margaret’s Uncle Josh and Aunt Mabel came to dinner, staying all day. It was a welcome occasion, and the professor said, “we had a good time talking with them.” Gwennie was probably thrilled too, because Aunt Mabel brought a music book so Margaret could give her some lessons.

In The President’s Birthday Ball Affair, Wallace DeWitt has dinner with Deacon Knox and his aide at the famous restaurant owned by champion boxer Jack Dempsey. Paid subscribers can read on.
