Professor Hamilton was back in the saddle today, teaching classes and attending an afternoon seminar on freedom. He also went downtown and got a haircut. I wonder if there was any chatter in the barbershop about Jean Harlow, the blonde bombshell, who at age 23 had just divorced her third husband. It was front page news in the Reading Times.

Paid subscribers can read on about this comet of an actress, whose off-screen life was about as exciting as her on-screen one — and tragically short. Harlow’s nickname was “Baby,” so I suppose this 1930 publicity photo could be titled “Baby on a Bearskin Rug.”
